Health at Every Age

We developed our company with your health in mind. ULTRA FIT for you at any age and any stage along your fitness journey. We want you to feel your best, inside and out, when you’re out there breaking a sweat. Here are five ways to invest in yourself and increase your health.

Exercise lowers the risk of illness, heart disease, type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and even some cancers. By keeping your weight at an appropriate level, your blood flowing, and your bones and muscles strong, you will also minimize your risk of injury. “Exercise is also one of the best things you can do to help prevent dementia and other cognitive changes,” says Hillis. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week.

There is a saying about the best diet being the one you can stick to because it happens to be the truth. It’s not helpful to adopt a diet or extreme lifestyle change simply because it’s a fad. Whether you are trying to lose weight or not, look to incorporate healthy foods in a way that is true to you. Eat more leafy green vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins. Limit processed foods and sugars. Learn the 80/20 balance of still enjoying yourself. Whenever possible, try to eat more plants. It’s better for both you and the environment.

Sleep will not only improve your mood, it has been linked to lengthening the span of your life as well as increasing or impeding your attempt at weight loss. Seven hours of sleep a night seems to be the sweet spot but can fluctuate depending on a person’s biology and needs.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Take some time each day to exercise your mind through activities such as reading, puzzles, being creative with painting, sketching, music, or other hobbies you enjoy. Stay social and keep up with friends and family the next time you take a break. The “companionship of others [can help us to] thrive in life, and the strength of our connections has a huge impact on our mental health and happiness,” says Help Guide. Keeping up with your social life can help to ease stress, anxiety, and depression.

Whatever stage you’re at in life, take the time to assess your health habits and if you’re lacking in an area, be honest and level up. You possess a world of potential, it’s time to tap into it.
